Marmite Swirls

on

Just before my younger sister’s first birthday party, my mum was panicking.  It was a joint 1 year birthday party for all of her NCT group but there wasn’t enough food.  She had about 20 minutes to quickly make something and she came up with Marmite swirls.  I don’t know if she used a recipe or not but I do know that they are incredibly yummy and so easy to make!  They taste like soft twiglets.  The recipe can be altered by replacing the Marmite with cheese,  chocolate spread or anything else!  I like having cheese and mustard and I recently saw a recipe in the Waitrose magazine that was the same but they replaced the Marmite with Feta cheese and Dukkah (aka Zaatar).

Here’s how to make them:

1.  Roll out some ready made Puff Pastry and then smear it in a generous helping of Marmite

2.  Roll it up

3.  Chop it into slices

4.  Place on a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes or read the packet of the puff pastry for a guide

5.  Yummy!  Marmite swirlys are ready to eat!

Enjoy!
