Hormonal pregnancy rant

Today we went on a tour of the hospital. I know, I’ve been there plenty of times before! But I wanted Simon and I to be reminded of where we need to go when the big day comes, and I had heard some of the layout had changed. We got to the tour a bit…

22 months and so helpful

I am now 8 months pregnant and have finally got over hyperemesis gravidarum, the anaemia is being treated with iron tablets and my glucose levels have been checked and declared normal.  It has been a difficult pregnancy but at the moment I feel good, and at times I can even forget I’m pregnant!

It was all going so well…

It was all going so well… I’ve been struggling a lot recently with sheer exhaustion from being pregnant and trying to look after a toddler.  I’ve spent time at my parents where they looked after Reuben while I slept all day.  I’m also struggling with the stress of the thought of being a mum to…

It’s all gone a bit quiet here (Roo at 20 months)

Hi all, So I haven’t been updating every month and I have a fair few good excuses!!  For a start, there’s hyperemesis gravidarum (ie. non stop throwing up) which has come as a lovely addition to this pregnancy.  I can’t believe how different (and difficult) this pregnancy is compared to the first.  I’m getting aches…

Vocabulary at 18 months

Roo chats a lot now!!   I love working out what he’s trying to say and hearing him say new words.  Recently has been a bit of a vocab explosion with at least 1 new word every day. I try to encourage him to talk by making sure I consciously always use the same word…

Things I’ve learnt from a few months with a toddler

Wow, toddlers are so different from babies!   As I’ve grown more exasperated and annoyed with the antics of my toddler I realised that it wasn’t him that needed to change – he already had!  It was time for me to catch up.  I had a good, long, hard look at myself and I could…

Reuben at 15 months

I love this age!  I remember my little sister being this age and it was definitely the cutest time.  They can follow and understand instructions, but they can’t talk back!  My little sister became my slipper-bearer whenever my feet were cold and I’m quickly training Reuben to do the same! 😉

Montessori Influences in our Home

Here are some ways that reading Montessori books has influenced our home. Personal Care Area This is Reuben’s personal care area, with a hairbrush, toothbrush, face sponge and mirror.  It’s in his reach so he can brush his hair/teeth as much and as often as he likes.  I don’t think he’s too young to have this…
